Reading log
Today in class we were taught how to properly set up our reading logs. We were given part 1 which was broken up into 4 different options to chose from a,b,c, and d. (A) a diary of one of the major characters, (B) a character development journal, (C) writing about one or more of the themes of the story, and (D) write about one of the symbols in the story. Part 2 consisted of (A) selecting a quote and analyzing it. Next, we started to read the prologue and part of chapter 1 of the story wild by Cheryl Strayed. The prologue consisted of her telling us she was in Northern California at the top of a mountain before hand dropping one of her boots , and making another trial in her pacific crest trail hike. Which was the trail she was traveling eleven hundred miles to help find herself . Next she started to explain how her mother died at 22 and she lost connection with her step father and siblings. Before her mother died she thought her mother was perfectly healthy going from doctor to doctor only to be told her mother had a year to live and was suffering from lung cancer with tumors growing down the entire length of her spine. While also later on she was separating from her husband. This story is very engrossing and something I will plan on finishing.
