Today in class we learned about thesis and thesis statement. Thesis statements answer a question that one has posed. It takes a position on a debatable topic , and contains an essays topic and points. The list and the umbrella are 2 types of ways to help find the thesis and thesis statement. The list is a essay that contains a topic, point, and three supporting reasons. While a umbrella is a topic, point, and alludes reasons why the reader should believe someone. We used the example How could playing a team sport be beneficial? My thesis was playing a team sport can be beneficial by learning social skills, teamwork, and responsibility and the thesis statement was the benefits of playing a team sport are rewarding.
